University of Arizona’s Water Cooperatives

Throughout the Western US, population growth and expanding urban areas will increase water demand even as climate changes affect supply equations. Communities may be challenged to consistently deliver sufficient water to meet demands, obtain additional supplies, and construct additional infrastructure, all while ensuring enough water for environmental needs and for cooling the urban environment. Prescott’s Sewer Preservation Projects

The city of Prescott has many sewer rehabilitation projects underway.  A majority of the City water comes from six wells in Chino Valley. The water is pumped into a five million gallon reservoir at the Chino Production Facility, and from there pumps convey it to Prescott via high-pressure water mains. Thirty water storage tanks/reservoirs and thirty-eight booster stations are maintained to provide water throughout more than sixty-six pressure zones that serve the City.
